RE: Notice of Agency Closure

Dear Clients Supporters and Community Agencies,

Since December 29th, 2009 Empowerment Through Achievement Vaughan Women’s Shelter & Outreach Centre (hereinafter referred to as “ETA Vaughan”) has helped over 9000 women, youth and children whom are escaping abuse or violence or are at-risk. It’s with a heavy heart that the ETA Vaughan Board of Directors must announce that ETA Vaughan will be closing its doors. Since inception, ETA Vaughan has been working without government assistance and due to continuous non-support has had to close.

After almost a decade of exceptional work, in the fight to end the cycle of violence our campaign will come to an end on October 1, 2017. ETA Vaughan has worked to empower our service users to live free from violence and abuse. ETA Vaughan has also worked to engage and educate youth, inspire leadership and empower youth to create change.

Our mission when we started was bold; however, we have accomplished more than we set out to do. We would like to thank all of you for your tireless support of us and our campaign. During this transition, we are no longer accepting donations and we will ensure that women, youth and children are redirected to other support networks in our community. We very much appreciate you being part of the ETA Vaughan legacy.

Yours very truly,

ETA Vaughan
Board of Directors
